1. Reply to this post, and I will pick six of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.
(Copying herself, if you only have six icons but want to play, I'll pick like... three or so. I'm also copying her formatting WITH NO SHAME.)
ringo-music-meWHY I HAVE IT:
For talking about music, and because I respect Shena Ringo even when I occasionally can't get what she's doing, and because I love the dichotomies in this image (making it well-suited for my weird musical tastes)WHO MADE IT:
I did, but it was mostly just cropping and enhancing.
secularism-octopus-meWHY I HAVE IT: tikistitch
found this image warning of the EVIL OCTOPUS-LIKE THREAT OF SECULARISM!!!! I found it hilarious, and even though I only rarely bust it out, as a big fan of secularism, it was a must-have. (Governmental secularism is a good thing for religious and non-religious people alike!)WHO MADE IT:
I was feeling very lazy and ran it through lechatron
's El Jay Iconmaker.
gokusen-meWHY I HAVE IT:
I enjoyed the "Gokusen" manga and TV show about an apparently meek and dorky Yakuza-clan-head's granddaughter trying to make it on the straight-and-narrow as a high school teacher in charge of a class full of reprobates. This image took a ton of processing (it was upside down and had stuff in the background I had to edit out), and I added the text (which says GOKUSEN) myself. I also like her massive yet subtle bitchface in this. <3 WHO MADE IT:

get fuzzy-footnotes-meWHY I HAVE IT:
For discussing academia and writing and stuff. This is one of my oldest icons, I think. It's from "Get Fuzzy."WHO MADE IT:
I did! I think I had to re-arrange the text, maybe edit the wall, but I don't remember.
murata-ono no komachi-meWHY I HAVE IT:
For being depressed, momentarily or not, and expressing that sense of things fading away. It quotes the beginning of a poem by Ono no Komachi: "Hana no iro wa/utsuri ni keri na..." (The colors of the flowers have already faded away...here's the whole thing in English; it's very short
).WHO MADE IT:
The art is by Range Murata. I can't remember if the fade to the left is original or not. I added the text.
whelan-shelves-sarudyWHY I HAVE IT:
The figure reminds me of me a little, and there are so many possible interpretations of what's going on. Is it a library? an office? a prison? a museum? Is she escaping? Researching? Daydreaming? Looking for someone? Sneaking in? Sometimes this icon just inexplicably fits a mood and a post.WHO MADE IT:
The art is by Michael Whelan and sarudy
made the icon. (Thank you!)
(That was fun, so if you have a question about some other icon
, by all means...)
