It never would have occurred to me that after buying a digital camera, you should check to see if there's a firmware update.

(This is actually true for most digital gadgets, since they're manufactured some time before you receive it, and in the meantime little improvements are often made.)

Unfortunately they've made an error in the step that tells you whether you need an update--the arrow points to the button above the button you need to push. It says to push the--the--OH HEY! The macro button! There it is! D'oh, that would have improved my recent photos--oh well, anyway, it says to push the macro button but you actually need to press the display button just beneath it.

I'd write them a note but I have a feeling a note that's not in Japanese is probably not going to be understood.

Now, off to buy a microwave. (Um. Wonder if it will need a firmware update. If so, does it have a USB slot...?)
